In a major positive step towards sustainable development, the Rajasthan government has relaunched its energy efficiency and conservation awareness program, reaffirming its commitment to clean energy and long‑term environmental goals. The initiative, officially unveiled in Jaipur, celebrated outstanding contributions in energy conservation and emphasized the importance of citizen participation in creating a greener future.
Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar led the event, honoring more than 70 individuals and institutions for their exemplary efforts in promoting energy efficiency across the state. The government also announced the launch of a scheme to distribute free induction cooktops—starting with initial beneficiaries from the rooftop solar program—to encourage reduced dependence on fossil fuels and promote cleaner cooking technologies.
Ajitabh Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), highlighted the shift towards minimizing energy demand without compromising welfare, noting that small, sustained conservation efforts have a significant long‑term impact on both the environment and community well‑being. The initiative will now be held regularly, with structured evaluation mechanisms to maximize energy‑saving outcomes.
The relaunch of this awareness program reflects the state government’s proactive approach to tackling climate change, fostering innovation, and encouraging public involvement in energy sustainability—an important political priority for Rajasthan as it navigates the challenges of modern growth with environmental responsibility.
