Date:

Wheat procurement has started in Alwar district, with authorities completing preparations as farmers expect a good harvest this season due to favourable weather conditions.

Officials said timely winter rains and suitable climate conditions have had a positive impact on wheat crops, raising expectations of higher production across the region.

Wheat Procurement to Continue Till June 30

Government procurement of wheat began on Tuesday and will continue until June 30.

The purchase process will be monitored by the divisional management office of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) for districts including Bharatpur, Deeg, and Karauli.

Officials have deployed quality inspectors at procurement centres to ensure smooth operations and proper grain inspection.

Arrivals Yet to Begin in Mandis

Although wheat arrivals in agricultural markets have not started yet, authorities said that all necessary arrangements are being made at procurement centres.

Facilities for weighing, storage, and other logistical support are being prepared to ensure that farmers do not face any difficulties when they bring their produce to sell.

MSP Fixed at ₹2,585 Per Quintal

According to the Department of Food and Civil Supplies Rajasthan, the Central Government has fixed the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat at ₹2,585 per quintal for the current season.

The Government of Rajasthan has also announced a bonus of ₹150 per quintal during the state budget session.

With this additional incentive, farmers will receive ₹2,735 per quintal for wheat sold under the MSP scheme.
