Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday addressed a state-level training conference on Census-2027, held virtually from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in Jaipur, emphasising the importance of accurate data collection and coordinated administrative efforts.
Addressing officials and stakeholders participating in the virtual session, the Chief Minister highlighted that the national census is a crucial exercise for evidence-based policymaking and effective governance. He stressed that reliable and comprehensive data forms the backbone of planning welfare schemes, infrastructure development, and targeted delivery of public services.
Sharma underlined the need for proper training of officials involved in the census process to ensure efficiency, transparency, and uniformity in data collection across districts. He noted that the use of digital tools and modern technology would play a key role in improving accuracy and reducing errors during the enumeration process. The Chief Minister also called for close coordination between state departments to ensure smooth implementation at the ground level.
Referring to Census-2027 as a significant administrative responsibility, Sharma said that the exercise would help the government assess demographic trends, socio-economic conditions, and regional requirements more effectively. He added that such data is essential for long-term planning and balanced development across urban and rural areas of the state.
Officials participating in the conference were briefed on operational guidelines, timelines, and preparatory measures required ahead of the census. The session also focused on capacity building, public awareness, and the role of local administration in ensuring widespread participation.
