Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Praises PM Modi for Initiatives Supporting the Specially-Abled

Date:

Kota, Rajasthan — Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing the welfare of specially-abled individuals, highlighting various government initiatives aimed at empowering them.

Speaking at an event in Kota, Birla said, “I thank the Prime Minister for being concerned about the specially-abled. He not only provided them with helping equipment but also made provisions for loans. Divyang parks are being created for them so that they can live a good life.”

Birla emphasized that both the central and state governments have launched several welfare schemes, with a special focus on children with disabilities. These include financial assistance, education support, and inclusive infrastructure development.

The creation of Divyang (specially-abled) parks across the country is part of a broader push to promote accessibility and inclusion in public spaces. Additionally, loan schemes and assistive equipment distribution are helping individuals lead more independent and dignified lives.

He noted that these steps reflect a significant policy shift in the government’s approach toward the specially-abled — moving from charity-based support to empowerment and equal opportunity.

The Speaker’s remarks align with the government’s wider mission to build an inclusive society through targeted schemes, improved infrastructure, and community-level engagement for persons with disabilities.
