Bhopal: In a significant development for regional cooperation, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma have come together to spearhead a joint initiative aimed at implementing the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) Interstate River Link Project.

The joint effort, marking a milestone in interstate collaboration, was highlighted by CM Mohan Yadav, who emphasized the project’s potential to address water scarcity and boost agricultural productivity across both states.

CM Yadav stated, “Today marks a crucial step towards harnessing our shared resources and addressing water management challenges. The PKC Interstate River Link Project will not only facilitate equitable distribution of water resources but also enhance our capabilities in sustainable agricultural practices.”

The project is expected to link the Parvati, Kalisindh, and Chambal rivers, aiming to optimize water utilization for irrigation and industrial purposes in Madhya Pradesh’s Malwa region and Rajasthan’s eastern districts.

Echoing similar sentiments, CM Bhajanlal Sharma expressed optimism about the project’s potential socio-economic benefits for both states. “This initiative underscores our commitment to collaborative governance and sustainable development. By pooling resources and expertise, we aim to achieve greater water security and prosperity for our people,” he affirmed.

It is also expected to bolster regional connectivity and foster economic growth through enhanced agricultural output and industrial expansion.

As both CMs pledged to work closely with the central government to expedite project implementation, stakeholders anticipate positive outcomes in water resource management and regional development.
