CM Bhajanlal Sharma Has Accepted Opposition’s Challenge for Assembly Debate: Rajasthan Dy CM Prem Chand Bairwa

Date:

Jaipur: Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa on Tuesday said that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has formally accepted the opposition’s challenge and invited a detailed discussion in the Rajasthan Assembly to compare governance records.

Speaking during the ongoing Rajasthan Assembly session in Jaipur, Bairwa said the Chief Minister has called on the opposition to raise all issues on the floor of the House and engage in an open and factual debate. “Today, our Chief Minister has accepted their challenge and said that they should discuss this matter in the Assembly,” he said.

Bairwa added that such a discussion would clearly highlight the contrast between the previous Congress government’s performance and the work carried out by the BJP-led government under CM Bhajanlal Sharma. “When they discuss it in the Assembly, they will realize what work they have done and what work the Bhajanlal Sharma government has done in its two-year tenure,” the Deputy Chief Minister stated.

According to Bairwa, the state government is confident about its governance record and welcomes scrutiny from the opposition. He said that the BJP government believes accountability and transparency are essential to democratic functioning and that the Assembly is the appropriate platform for such debates.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the government is prepared to place facts, figures, and policy outcomes before the House, covering key sectors such as development initiatives, welfare schemes, law and order, and financial management. He asserted that the government’s achievements over the past two years reflect its commitment to good governance and public welfare.

Political observers say the remarks signal an increasingly assertive stance by the ruling BJP in the Assembly, as it seeks to counter opposition criticism by directly inviting debate on governance performance. The acceptance of the challenge by the Chief Minister is expected to lead to intense discussions in the House in the coming days.

As the Assembly session continues, the proposed debate is likely to become a focal point, with both the ruling party and the opposition preparing to defend their respective records before legislators and the public.
