Date:

Jaipur, April 2026: Rajasthan has witnessed a significant improvement in law and order, with overall crime declining by around 18% over the past two years, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced.

Crime Rate Declines Across Categories

The Chief Minister highlighted that the reduction in crime reflects consistent efforts by law enforcement agencies, backed by better planning and stricter enforcement.

Data indicates that serious offences such as robbery, dacoity, and violent crimes have seen notable declines, contributing to an improved sense of safety among citizens.

‘Zero Tolerance’ Policy Driving Change

CM Sharma attributed the improvement to the government’s “zero tolerance” policy towards crime and corruption, which has strengthened policing and accountability across the state.

He emphasised that the administration remains committed to maintaining a fear-free environment and ensuring justice for all.

Technology and Special Task Forces Boost Policing

The state has introduced several measures to curb crime, including:

  • Formation of Anti-Narcotics and Anti-Gangster Task Forces
  • Deployment of cyber help desks across police stations
  • Increased use of technology and surveillance systems

These initiatives have enhanced the ability of police to respond quickly and effectively to emerging threats.

Focus on Women’s Safety and Community Policing

The government has also prioritised women’s safety, with dedicated helplines and patrol units deployed to respond faster to distress calls.

Officials stressed the importance of community policing, encouraging public participation in maintaining law and order.

Continued Push for Safer Rajasthan

The Chief Minister reiterated that efforts will continue to:

  • Strengthen policing infrastructure
  • Improve investigation timelines
  • Ensure strict action against criminals

The decline in crime is being seen as a positive indicator of improved governance and policing effectiveness in Rajasthan.
