Rajasthan to Get ‘School on Wheels’ in Every District: CM Bhajanlal Sharma Announces Major Education Initiative

Date:

In a major announcement ahead of the Panchayat elections, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma declared that a ‘School on Wheels’ will be established in every district of the state. The initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted education for children belonging to nomadic, denotified, and semi-nomadic communities.

The announcement is being seen as a significant step toward strengthening inclusive education and social empowerment in Rajasthan.

Focus on Nomadic and Denotified Communities

Addressing a gathering at Adarsh Vidya Mandir auditorium in Ambabari, the Chief Minister said that denotified, nomadic, and semi-nomadic communities are an integral part of Indian civilization and culture.

He emphasized that the state government is fully committed to the welfare and empowerment of these communities, who have historically remained on the margins of mainstream development.

CM Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted that the government has already distributed residential land pattas to nomadic families and arranged hostel facilities to support the education of their children.

‘School on Wheels’ Under Budget 2026-27

The Chief Minister announced that under the Raj Pahal Programme in the 2026-27 budget, the state will launch the innovative ‘School on Wheels’ initiative. In the first phase, one mobile school will be set up in each district of Rajasthan.

The mobile schools will cater specifically to children of migrating families who often miss regular schooling due to seasonal movement.

Ensuring Education for Migrant and Displaced Children

CM Sharma stated that the programme will prove to be a milestone in the field of education. Along with School on Wheels, the government will also organize:

  • Temporary education camps in migration-affected areas
  • Six-month school readiness camps in educational divisions

These measures aim to ensure that children deprived of regular schooling due to migration and displacement can access quality education without interruption.

The initiative is expected to significantly improve literacy levels among nomadic and semi-nomadic communities while promoting equal educational opportunities across Rajasthan.
