Diya Kumari Highlights Tourism Potential as Rajasthan Launches New Tourism Policy

Date:

Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Thursday extended warm greetings to the global Rajasthani community on the occasion of Pravasi Rajasthani Divas, emphasising the state’s cultural pride and growing tourism prospects. Addressing participants at the event in Jaipur, she said it was a moment of immense joy for the nation that UNESCO has recognised Deepawali as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, a milestone that she described as a source of pride for “every Indian.”

Kumari noted that the tourism-focused session at the Pravasi Rajasthani Divas saw the participation of several overseas Rajasthanis, many of whom shared valuable suggestions for strengthening the sector. “We received several suggestions at the tourism session. I feel there is immense potential for tourism, and it remains one of the most important sectors for Rajasthan,” she said.

Highlighting the state government’s commitment to expanding tourism infrastructure, the Deputy CM announced the launch of the new Tourism Policy, aimed at promoting investment and encouraging citizens to establish tourism-related ventures. “We have launched the Tourism Policy today. We are encouraging people to launch their tourism unit in Rajasthan,” she added.

With Rajasthan already known for its heritage sites, cultural festivals and desert landscapes, the government hopes the revamped policy will attract greater participation from entrepreneurs and the diaspora, helping position the state as a leading global tourism destination.
