India’s Electronic Exports See Sixfold Growth, Says Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Date:

Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has highlighted India’s remarkable progress in the electronics manufacturing sector, stating that electronic exports have increased more than six times in recent years.

Addressing the media, Vaishnaw said the sector has recorded strong momentum, with production witnessing a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of over 17%, while export CAGR has exceeded 20%. “Within a short time frame, the ecosystem has substantially increased,” he said.

The minister also noted that the country now has over 400 electronics manufacturing units, a testament to the success of government initiatives aimed at promoting domestic production and reducing dependence on imports.

These developments come as part of broader efforts under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and the ‘Make in India’ drive, which aim to establish India as a global hub for high-tech manufacturing and exports.
