Date:

Sirsa — Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma conducted an inspection of critical infrastructure associated with the Bhakra Irrigation Project near Lohgarh Head in Sirsa, focusing on the link between the Indira Gandhi Feeder and the Sirhind Feeder.

During the visit, the Chief Minister examined the headworks built on the Indira Gandhi Feeder as well as the ongoing relining work of the canal. The inspection is part of the state government’s continued efforts to strengthen irrigation infrastructure and ensure efficient water management for agricultural purposes.

Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the progress and importance of the relining work, which aims to reduce water loss and improve supply efficiency across regions dependent on the Bhakra system. The project plays a vital role in supporting irrigation in northern Rajasthan, particularly in water-scarce districts.
