Jaipur, Rajasthan | NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar Highlights Women Empowerment Initiatives at Jaipur Dairy Event

Date:

Jaipur, Rajasthan – National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar praised the ongoing initiatives for women’s empowerment in Rajasthan during her recent visit to Jaipur. Speaking at an event organized by Jaipur Dairy, Rahatkar lauded the efforts to support women, particularly in the dairy sector, and highlighted the various programs being rolled out to uplift women across the state.

“Very good initiatives are being taken here for women empowerment,” Rahatkar said, emphasizing the importance of creating opportunities for women to thrive in various industries. One of the key initiatives she highlighted was the launch of the Saras Lado Mayra Yojana, which provides financial assistance for the marriages of daughters of registered milk-producing farmers associated with Jaipur Dairy. This program, according to Rahatkar, is a significant step toward alleviating financial burdens on rural families and promoting social welfare.

Additionally, Rahatkar noted that women play a pivotal role in the dairy industry, with about 70 per cent of the dairy sector being in the hands of women. She stressed the need for enhancing their skills through focused initiatives. “Emphasis should be given to increase the skills of women, study tours should be organized, new technology should be taught, then women will be able to contribute better,” she explained. By equipping women with modern techniques and expanding their knowledge base, Rahatkar believes that the dairy industry can see even greater contributions from female entrepreneurs and workers.

In a further boost to women’s participation in the sector, the NCW chairperson also mentioned the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the event. The MoU, which aligns with the NCW’s vision of empowering women, will facilitate training programs and skill development sessions for women involved in the dairy industry, enabling them to explore new avenues for growth and leadership.

The program is a part of a broader effort to empower women in rural areas and equip them with the necessary resources to succeed in both the dairy industry and other fields. Rahatkar’s visit underscores the importance of government and industry collaboration to ensure that women have the tools and support needed to contribute meaningfully to the economy.

The Saras Lado Mayra Yojana, along with the new training initiatives, is expected to make a significant impact on the lives of women farmers and entrepreneurs in Jaipur, providing them with financial stability, technical expertise, and greater opportunities for social and economic growth.
