Final Electoral Roll Out: SEC Publishes Voter List for 195 ULBs in Rajasthan

Date:

The State Election Commission (SEC), Rajasthan has released the final voter list for 195 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) across the state, marking an important step in preparations for the upcoming civic elections. The announcement follows a detailed and multi-stage revision exercise aimed at ensuring that the electoral rolls are accurate, updated, and transparent.

According to officials, the final voter list has been prepared after an extensive verification process in which voter records from urban local bodies were carefully reviewed. During this exercise, necessary corrections were made, including addition of eligible voters, deletion of duplicate entries, and correction of incorrect or outdated details. The aim of the revision was to ensure that only genuine and eligible voters are included in the final electoral roll.

The SEC stated that the revision process is part of its broader effort to maintain a clean, error-free, and reliable voter database ahead of the elections. Officials added that multiple rounds of scrutiny were conducted to ensure accuracy and to eliminate inconsistencies in voter data.

The release of the final voter list is considered a crucial milestone in the election process for urban local bodies in Rajasthan. With this step completed, the election machinery is now expected to proceed with further preparations, including finalisation of polling stations, deployment and training of election staff, and logistical arrangements for conducting the elections smoothly.

The Commission has also made the updated voter list available for public access, allowing citizens, political parties, and other stakeholders to verify their details. This move is intended to ensure transparency and accountability in the electoral process and to address any last-minute concerns before the elections are announced.

Officials reiterated that the SEC remains committed to conducting free, fair, and impartial elections across all urban local bodies in the state. The preparation of a final and verified voter list is a mandatory and significant step before announcing election schedules, which will now follow in due course as preparations move ahead.
