In a significant push toward achieving a $1 trillion economy, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the deployment of ‘CM Fellows’ in every district. The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting held on Tuesday, with a focus on making district-level economic development more efficient, data-driven, and result-oriented.
Focus on Data-Driven District Development
The Chief Minister emphasized adopting an evidence-based development model at the district level, inspired by programs like Aspirational Blocks and Aspirational Urban Local Bodies. He instructed officials to strengthen the economic and data analytics capacity of district-level OTD (One Trillion Dollar) cells to ensure informed decision-making.
Two Experts to Be Appointed in Each District
As per the directive, each district will have two specialized professionals नियुक्त as OTD CM Fellows:
- One Economic Development Expert
- One Data Analyst
These fellows will analyze local resources, investment opportunities, and economic potential using data-backed insights. They will also assist in preparing district-specific growth strategies aligned with the state’s broader economic vision.
Monthly and Quarterly Reporting Mandatory
To ensure accountability and transparency:
- Monthly progress reports by CM Fellows will be uploaded online
- Quarterly reviews and presentations will be conducted at the Principal Secretary/Secretary level
Additionally, fellows will submit recommendation-based reports to district OTD cells to boost economic activities.
Emphasis on Continuous Data Analysis
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of regular analysis of local data trends. These insights will be presented in official meetings to enable more precise and effective policymaking at the district level.
Eligibility Criteria for CM Fellows
The state government will define strict eligibility criteria to ensure high-quality talent selection.
