Kota, Rajasthan: The long-awaited Kota Greenfield Airport project, which has been at the center of the city’s political discussions for more than two decades, is now set to become a reality. Preparations are underway for the foundation stone laying ceremony scheduled for March 7, marking a major milestone for the region’s infrastructure development.

Authorities have intensified work at the airport site, where a temporary helipad and a large dome structure are being constructed to host a large public gathering during the ceremony.

PM Modi’s Video Message to Be Played at Ceremony

During the foundation stone event, a video message from Narendra Modi will be broadcast. The project has been strongly supported by Om Birla, who has been consistently pushing for the development of the Greenfield Airport at the highest levels.

The project is widely considered a dream project of the Lok Sabha Speaker, who has been actively pursuing its approval and implementation for several years.

Construction and Infrastructure Work Nearing Completion

Ahead of the ceremony, officials are speeding up preparations at the airport site. Infrastructure work including road development, land leveling, helipad construction, and installation of the event dome is in its final phase.

Security arrangements are also being strengthened to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.

Key Leaders to Attend Foundation Stone Event

The foundation stone for the Kota Greenfield Airport and other major development projects will be laid by Om Birla along with K. Rammohan Naidu and Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Several local leaders and officials are actively supervising preparations for the event, including Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar, Kota South MLA Sandeep Sharma, and BJP District President Rakesh Jain.

Boost for Kota’s Connectivity and Development

The Greenfield Airport is expected to significantly enhance air connectivity for Kota and the Hadoti region, benefiting tourism, business, and the large number of students who travel to the city for coaching.

Once operational, the airport is likely to play a key role in accelerating regional economic growth and infrastructure development in southeastern Rajasthan.
