₹500 Crore Development Works to Transform Kota Region: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

Date:

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday said that development projects worth ₹500 crore will be undertaken in the Kota region under the current budget, focusing on strengthening basic infrastructure and expanding educational facilities.

Addressing a public gathering in Kota, Birla said the projects will cover essential services such as tap water supply to every household, electricity connectivity, improved road networks, and enhanced healthcare infrastructure, including Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs). He added that improved road and highway connectivity would also be extended to smaller villages to boost mobility and economic activity.

Birla emphasised that the government is committed to ensuring that rural and semi-urban areas receive quality infrastructure comparable to urban centres. He noted that the development push aims to enhance living standards and create opportunities for growth in the region.

Highlighting progress in the education sector, the Lok Sabha Speaker said that the foundation stone for a Polytechnic College has been laid in Kanwas, a small town in the area. He stated that the institution would provide technical education and skill development opportunities for youth, enabling them to compete at national and global levels.

According to Birla, empowering young people through technical education is key to strengthening the country’s workforce and fostering innovation. He added that such initiatives reflect the government’s focus on inclusive development and long-term capacity building.

The projects are expected to be implemented in phases, with coordination among various departments to ensure timely completion and effective delivery of benefits to residents.
