Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Tourism, Art and Culture Department in Jaipur, where he directed officials to ensure the timely completion of all pending budgetary announcements.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized that tourism and cultural heritage are vital sectors for Rajasthan, both for preserving the state’s glorious traditions and for boosting its economy through increased visitor inflow. He urged the officials to adopt a proactive approach in resolving administrative bottlenecks and accelerate work on approved projects, particularly those related to infrastructure development, heritage site restoration, and promotion of Rajasthan’s folk art and cultural festivals.
Highlighting the state’s unique identity as a hub of heritage tourism, Sharma said that Rajasthan continues to attract both domestic and international travelers. Therefore, it is essential that all upcoming projects not only meet deadlines but also reflect the cultural vibrancy and grandeur of the state.
Officials from the department presented updates on the progress of various schemes, including initiatives for the conservation of historical monuments, modernization of museums, and improved tourist amenities at key destinations. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of coordination between different departments to ensure effective execution and maximum impact of these schemes.
With the 2025–26 budget placing a special focus on tourism development, Sharma reiterated that his government remains committed to strengthening Rajasthan’s cultural landscape while enhancing employment opportunities linked to the tourism industry.
