Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Divyang Community

Date:

Jaipur | Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma marked the festival of Raksha Bandhan in a heartfelt manner by celebrating it with members of the Divyang (specially-abled) community.

Speaking at the event, CM Sharma said, “Raksha Bandhan is a festival of brother-sister love, so I thought of celebrating it among the Divyang brothers and sisters. I have assured them that our government will support them and help them progress, and we are working in this direction continuously.”

The celebration was held at a special gathering in Jaipur, where sisters from the Divyang community tied rakhis to the Chief Minister, symbolizing the bond of protection and care. The event saw cultural programs, felicitation of achievers from the community, and distribution of sweets.

Sharma reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities and accessibility for people with disabilities. He highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at improving education, employment, and social welfare measures for the Divyang population in Rajasthan.

Raksha Bandhan, celebrated across India, is a festival where sisters tie a sacred thread (rakhi) on their brothers’ wrists, seeking protection and blessings. By spending the occasion with the Divyang community, CM Sharma aimed to spread the message of inclusivity and compassion.

Community members expressed their gratitude for the gesture, noting that such celebrations help raise awareness and foster a sense of belonging. Social organizations present at the event also emphasized the need for continued government focus on accessibility and skill development programs.

The event concluded with group photographs and heartfelt exchanges, making the celebration a memorable one for all involved.
