PM Modi Addresses Summit of the Future: Calls for Reforms in Global Institutions

Date:

Speaking at the Summit of the Future in New York, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the importance of collective strength for the success of humanity, stating, “The success of humanity lies in our collective strength, not on the battlefield.” He emphasized that for global peace and development, reforms in global institutions are not just necessary, but essential.

Modi articulated that “reform is the key to relevance,” pointing to the recent decision to grant permanent membership to the African Union at the New Delhi Summit as a significant step toward inclusivity in global governance. He highlighted the urgent need for the international community to adapt to changing realities and challenges.

Addressing the multifaceted nature of modern conflicts, Modi noted, “While terrorism remains a major threat, new arenas of conflict are emerging in cyber, maritime, and space domains.” He called for a unified global response, asserting that “Global Action must match Global Ambition” in tackling these evolving threats.

As world leaders gather to discuss the pressing issues of our time, Modi’s remarks serve as a reminder of the need for a coordinated and proactive approach to ensure a secure and peaceful future for all nations. The summit aims to foster dialogue on these critical topics and encourage collaborative efforts among nations to build a more stable and inclusive world.
