Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Advocates for Increased Organ Donation

Date:

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted the critical importance of organ donation during a recent address in Jaipur. Speaking on the transformative potential of increasing organ donations, Dhankhar emphasized that such a shift could significantly enhance the efficiency of the healthcare system and reduce the need for citizens to seek medical procedures abroad.

“When organ donation will rise, the number of efficient people in our country will increase,” Dhankhar stated. “The medical fraternity will rise and achieve expertise.” He underlined the current trend of patients traveling overseas for organ transplants and asserted that this should be mitigated by strengthening domestic organ donation practices.

Dhankhar drew a parallel between organ donation and the widespread adoption of mobile phones in India, noting the profound impact of technology on everyday life. “Have you ever thought that every person in India will have a mobile phone? Today, the villagers are capable of doing financial transactions through mobile because mobile has become a necessity. In the same way, organ donation is the need of the society,” he said.

The Vice President’s remarks underscore the urgent need to normalize and promote organ donation as a societal necessity. By fostering a culture of donation, Dhankhar believes that India can improve its healthcare infrastructure and ensure that life-saving treatments are accessible within the country.

His call to action aims to inspire individuals and institutions to recognize the vital role of organ donation in enhancing public health and reducing reliance on international medical services. As discussions around organ donation continue to gain momentum, Dhankhar’s vision highlights a future where medical advancements and equitable healthcare are within reach for all Indians.
