Kota-Bundi: New Developments for Mukundra Hills and Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserves

Date:

Kota: Major developments are on the horizon for the Mukundra Hills and Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserves in Rajasthan, thanks to the efforts of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. In a significant boost for wildlife conservation, both reserves are set to receive new additions and upgrades.

On August 8, a crucial meeting was held in the parliamentary constituency of Kota-Bundi, attended by Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister for Forests and Environment Bhupender Yadav, and Rajasthan’s Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma. The discussions centered around the enhancement of the tiger reserves and the introduction of new initiatives.

Expansion and Safari Plans:

As part of the new initiatives, nine tigers and tigresses will be released into the Mukundra Hills and Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserves. This move aims to bolster the tiger population and improve the ecological balance within these reserves.

Additionally, the Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve will see the development of new facilities, including the introduction of a tiger safari. This initiative is expected to enhance visitor experience and promote tourism while contributing to conservation efforts.

Speaker Om Birla emphasized the need to increase the number of tigers and other wildlife in both reserves. He also advocated for the prompt initiation of the safari in Kota, aiming to integrate conservation with eco-tourism and public engagement.

Future Prospects:

These efforts are part of a broader strategy to strengthen wildlife conservation in Rajasthan and boost the state’s reputation as a key destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The introduction of new tigers and the development of safari facilities are set to make significant contributions to the reserves’ ecological health and visitor appeal.

The collaborative efforts between the central and state governments highlight a commitment to preserving Rajasthan’s rich biodiversity and enhancing its natural attractions.
