Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, in a recent meeting at the Secretariat, outlined a strategic vision for the development of tourism in Rajasthan. The presentation, delivered in the presence of Dr. Rashmi Sharma, Director of the Tourism Department, and Anupama Jorwal, Managing Director of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), focused on enhancing the state’s tourism infrastructure to meet international standards.
During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Kumari emphasized the need to provide world-class facilities to tourists visiting Rajasthan. She directed the formulation of a detailed action plan for the planned development of tourism, archaeology, and religious sites across the state. “Tourism development should be aimed at delivering international-level amenities to visitors,” she said, stressing that the quality of work should be a key factor in this development.
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed potential points in the Tourism Unit Policy—2024 and discussed the implementation of budget announcements related to tourism. She instructed officials to ensure transparency in the selection process of agencies responsible for executing tourism projects and to expedite the implementation of all budget-related announcements.
Additionally, Kumari endorsed the “Developed Rajasthan @2047” vision document, affirming its alignment with the state’s long-term tourism goals. She specifically highlighted the need for comprehensive and planned restoration and development of significant religious tourism sites, including Shri Khatu Shyam Ji, Shri Mahavir Ji, and others.
In recognition of the historical and religious importance of the Jamwai Mata Temple, Deputy Chief Minister Kumari directed that the temple be restored and developed to reflect its full grandeur. Her focus on these religious sites underscores her commitment to preserving and enhancing Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage while promoting tourism.
This strategic direction aims to position Rajasthan as a premier global tourist destination, blending heritage preservation with modern amenities to attract and accommodate visitors from around the world.
