Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma made major announcements on road infrastructure while speaking on the Finance and Appropriation Bill in the State Assembly.
The Chief Minister declared an additional ₹500 crore allocation for missing link roads, along with projects worth over ₹900 crore for road construction, widening, strengthening, and bridge development across the state.
₹500 Crore Boost for Missing Link Roads
CM Sharma said that the state government had earlier announced ₹600 crore for missing link roads and ₹1,400 crore for non-patchable roads in the Budget.
Now, an additional ₹500 crore will be provided specifically for missing link roads to improve connectivity in both rural and urban areas. The move is expected to accelerate pending and incomplete road works and enhance last-mile connectivity.
₹900 Crore+ Road and Bridge Projects Across Districts
The Chief Minister also announced road construction and bridge projects across multiple districts, aimed at strengthening Rajasthan’s transport network.
Key projects include:
- Road works in Kota and Bundi districts – ₹70 crore
- Sirwal–Bhimana–Bijapur road (Pali) – ₹20 crore
- SH-91 Sagwara widening (Dungarpur) – ₹8 crore
- Bandikui–Jaipur Greenfield Expressway (earlier announced project)
- Multiple missing link road projects in Sikar, Nagaur, Tonk, Bikaner, Churu, Baran, Bhilwara, Alwar, and other districts
Several projects also involve bridge construction over rivers such as the Chambal, Banas, Kothari, and other local waterways to improve year-round connectivity.
Focus on Rural Connectivity and Economic Growth
The announcements cover:
- Road widening and strengthening
- Construction of missing link roads
- Rural road upgradation
- Causeways and RCC bridges
- Bypass and state highway improvements
These initiatives aim to boost economic activity, improve access to markets, enhance rural mobility, and reduce travel time across districts.
Strengthening Infrastructure Statewide
With more than 100 road and bridge projects proposed across Rajasthan, the government’s focus remains on upgrading transport infrastructure in both urban and rural regions.
The additional funding is expected to speed up stalled works, enhance connectivity in remote areas, and support overall socio-economic development across the state.
The large-scale road infrastructure push signals the Rajasthan government’s continued emphasis on connectivity-driven growth and improved public infrastructure.
