A significant change has been made to the Indian squad announced for the T20 series against Ireland and England. Right-arm fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been included in the Indian team, replacing Mohammed Siraj for both T20 series.
Following consultations between the BCCI medical team and the team management, Siraj has been advised to rest as part of workload management. This decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure he is fully recovered ahead of a long international season. Prasidh Krishna will now travel with the team for the Ireland and England tours in Siraj’s place.
Mohammed Siraj was part of the squads for the 2026 ODI World Cup and the 2026 T20 World Cup. He also featured in the solitary Test against Afghanistan but was rested for the ODI series against that team. The BCCI aims to keep Siraj fully fit for upcoming ODI and Test series, which is likely the reason behind the decision to exclude him from the Ireland and England T20 series. Siraj has taken 17 wickets in 17 T20 matches.
Prasidh Krishna has claimed 8 wickets in 5 T20 matches for the Indian team. He delivered an outstanding performance while playing for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 2026 IPL, taking 16 wickets in 12 matches. Two T20 matches are scheduled to be played in Ireland, while five are set to take place in England.
India’s updated squad for the Ireland and England T20 series: Shreyas Iyer (Captain), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (Wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (Wicketkeeper), Shivam Dube, Tilak Varma (Vice-captain), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Prasidh Krishna.
