Rajasthan: The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) officially inaugurated the Rupahari Textile Park in Bhilwara to boost Rajasthan’s textile industry. The project aims to attract new investment in the textile industry and strengthen the state’s industrial infrastructure. The new park is expected to emerge as a major manufacturing and employment hub, further strengthening Bhilwara’s reputation as the “Textile City of India.”
According to officials, the textile park has been developed at Rupaheri village in Hurda tehsil of Bhilwara district and is spread across nearly 12.48 lakh square metres of land. The state government has sanctioned approximately ₹221 crore for the development of the industrial zone, which will include modern infrastructure and facilities for textile units.
The park is designed to support various segments of the textile value chain, including spinning, weaving, dyeing, processing, garment manufacturing, and textile exports. Officials said the integrated setup will help industries reduce operational costs while improving connectivity and supply-chain efficiency. The project is also expected to encourage both domestic and international investors to establish manufacturing units in Bhilwara.
RIICO authorities stated that the park will contain around 181 industrial plots equipped with modern infrastructure facilities such as internal roads, drainage systems, water supply, power connectivity, fire stations, and common utility services. In addition, the project blueprint includes provisions for skill development centres, worker facilities, and support infrastructure to assist industries and employees.
Officials believe the textile park will generate large-scale employment opportunities for local youth and skilled workers from nearby districts. Bhilwara already houses one of India’s largest textile manufacturing ecosystems, and the new industrial zone is expected to further expand production capacity and boost exports from Rajasthan. Industry experts say the project could help transform Bhilwara into a more organised and globally competitive textile manufacturing destination.
The opening of the Rupaheri Textile Park also aligns with Rajasthan government efforts to strengthen industrial growth through sector-specific infrastructure projects. Over the past few years, RIICO has accelerated the development of industrial areas, logistics zones, and specialised parks to improve ease of doing business in the state.
Recent administrative approvals issued by RIICO indicate that additional infrastructure development and plot allotment processes are already underway for the textile park. Authorities are also preparing further expansion and upgradation works to accommodate increasing industrial demand in the region.
Industry leaders have welcomed this initiative. They say the project will significantly strengthen Rajasthan’s textile industry. It will attract new investment, boost textile exports, and create a large number of permanent jobs.
