Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Chairs Meeting on Traffic and Road Safety, Calls for Strict Measures to Curb Accidents

Date:

Jaipur, Rajasthan: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting on traffic management and road safety, directing officials to implement strict measures to reduce road accidents and improve road infrastructure across the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed ongoing road safety initiatives and instructed departments to coordinate effectively to ensure safer roads. He stressed the need for better traffic discipline, regular monitoring, and timely maintenance of highways and city roads.

CM Sharma said that saving lives through improved road safety should be a top priority for all government departments. “Every accident is a loss to a family and society. We must strengthen enforcement, enhance awareness, and ensure that roads are maintained with the highest safety standards,” he said.

He also called for greater use of technology—such as surveillance cameras, speed-monitoring systems, and automated challans—to enforce traffic rules more effectively. The Chief Minister directed the transport and police departments to jointly identify accident-prone zones and take corrective action immediately.

Officials were also instructed to launch awareness campaigns promoting the use of helmets, seat belts, and adherence to speed limits.

The meeting concluded with a roadmap aimed at reducing the number of accidents and fatalities through stricter enforcement, improved infrastructure, and public participation.
