In a spectacular cultural display, over 11,000 women dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire came together to perform Ghoomar, the iconic dance of Rajasthan, yesterday. The event, held in Surat, marked the celebration of Rajasthan Sthapna Divas (Rajasthan Foundation Day) and the first day of Chaitra Navratri, bringing together a vibrant show of unity and tradition.

The women, adorned in colorful Rajasthani lehengas, dupattas, and traditional jewelry, performed the graceful and energetic Ghoomar dance, known for its swirling movements and rhythmic beats. This grand performance was not only a tribute to Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage but also a festive homage to the beginning of the nine-day celebration of Chaitra Navratri, a time dedicated to worshiping Goddess Durga.

The massive turnout and the synchronized dance reflected the spirit of unity and celebration, as people from different backgrounds came together to honor the traditions of Rajasthan. This vibrant display of culture in Surat highlighted the deep connection people have with their roots and the importance of preserving and sharing cultural expressions across regions.
