Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Focuses on Expanding Mining Sector to Boost Revenue and Employment

Date:

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted the state’s vast potential in mineral resources and the significant role the mining sector plays in generating employment and revenue. Addressing a review meeting of the Mines and Petroleum Department on Monday, the Chief Minister stated that approximately 3 million people, both directly and indirectly, benefit from mining activities in the state.

“Rajasthan is blessed with abundant mineral resources, and it is our priority to ensure these resources are properly exploited for the state’s economic growth,” Sharma said. He emphasized that the mining sector is a key contributor to the state’s revenue, underlining the government’s commitment to enhancing revenue generation from this sector.

Sharma urged officials to set clear targets for the mining department and accelerate exploration efforts. He instructed them to identify new mining areas and make the auction process more transparent, ensuring that the state’s mineral wealth is used for the welfare of the public.

To ensure efficient management of the mining sector, the Chief Minister called for the formation of an assessment committee to monitor various activities of the Mines Department. He also stressed the need for regular meetings to track progress and ensure the timely execution of projects.

In addition to these measures, CM Sharma directed officials to engage with the concerned firms regarding the refinery project and prepare an action plan to ensure its swift operation. The Chief Minister’s focus on transparency and efficiency aims to ensure that Rajasthan’s mineral resources are harnessed responsibly, with benefits reaching all sections of society.

This proactive approach is expected to enhance Rajasthan’s position as a leader in the mining sector, driving economic growth while creating more opportunities for employment and development in the state.
