Bhajan Lal Sharma Becomes Rajasthan’s Chief Minister

Date:

In a surprising move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed first-time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The decision came after days of speculation following the BJP’s victory in the assembly polls. Sharma, representing the Sanganer constituency, was elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party.

Sharma, born on December 15, 1966, hails from Atari village near Nadbai in Bharatpur district. He completed his education at MSJ College in Bharatpur and holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Rajasthan. His political journey began with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Over the years, he served as the ABVP’s district president and later joined the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). Notably, he was elected as the sarpanch of his native village at the age of 27.

Sharma’s appointment brings an end to the leadership uncertainty in Rajasthan, and he will be supported by two deputy chief ministers: Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa. As the 14th Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sharma faces the task of leading the state through its challenges and opportunities.
