He also viewed contemporary apparel, home linen, decorative items, indigenous fiber-based products, and traditional tools used in Khadi production.

Highlighting the evolving identity of Khadi, the KVIC Chairman stated that the sector has transcended its status as merely a fabric to become a symbol of India’s heritage, sustainability, self-reliance, and the empowerment of rural artisans. He noted that research, design, and innovation are shaping the “New Khadi of New India” to meet the preferences of young consumers and the demands of the global market.

The Khadi India Pavilion themed “Khadi Reimagined: Tradition for Contemporary Living” showcases lifestyle products, innovative items made from indigenous fibers, traditional Khadi tools, and new collections centered on the theme “New Khadi of New India – Khadi for the Nation, Khadi for Fashion, Khadi for Transformation.”

According to KVIC, the Khadi and Village Industries sector recorded a turnover of over ₹1.87 lakh crore during the 2025-26 financial year and provided employment to more than 2.04 crore people across the country. Shri Goyal expressed confidence that the sector would maintain its growth momentum and achieve the target of a ₹2.51 lakh crore turnover in the coming years.

Buyers, industry leaders, designers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from across the globe have gathered at ‘Bharat Tex 2026’, being held from July 14 to 17. Through the ‘Khadi India Pavilion’, KVIC is showcasing India’s Khadi heritage, its potential for innovation, and its commitment to sustainable development on an international platform.
