IPC Signs MoU with UPPPC to Promote Quality Assurance and Growth of Pharma Sector in Uttar Pradesh

Date:

Taking a significant step towards enhancing healthcare quality and strengthening India’s regulatory framework, the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) and the Uttar Pradesh Promote Pharma Council (UPPPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the ‘YEIDA MedTech Investors Meet and Site Visit 2026’ held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.

The objective of this partnership is to strengthen the pharmaceutical and medical device ecosystem by fostering quality standards, regulatory compliance, innovation, and capacity building across the sector. Additionally, the initiative will focus on strengthening patient safety through robust quality assurance measures and enhanced post-market monitoring systems.

Under this collaboration, the IPC and UPPPC will jointly conduct training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns to promote the Indian Pharmacopoeia, pharmacovigilance, and materiovigilance.

Both organizations will also foster research, innovation, and industry-academia collaboration to support the long-term growth of the sector. This MoU also emphasizes empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing them with digital tools, enabling them to report adverse events, ensure regulatory compliance, and better monitor safety.

This collaboration reflects the IPC’s commitment to strengthening India’s healthcare standards while helping Uttar Pradesh emerge as a major hub for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare technology. The initiative is expected to foster a robust ecosystem focused on quality, safety, innovation, and global competitiveness.
