Rewari–Phulera Railway Project: ₹2,208 Crore Rail Line to Boost Connectivity Between Rajasthan and Haryana

Date:

Jaipur: Rail connectivity between Rajasthan and Haryana is set to improve significantly as a 215-kilometre railway line project between Rewari and Phulera gains momentum. The project, estimated to cost ₹2,208 crore, is expected to strengthen regional transport infrastructure and provide major benefits to passengers and pilgrims traveling across the two states.

The railway line will improve connectivity for several districts and make travel easier for devotees visiting prominent religious destinations such as Khatu Shyamji Temple and Salasar Balaji Temple.

Project to Be Completed in Two Phases

The doubling of the Rewari–Phulera railway section will be carried out in two phases.

In the first phase, railway track doubling is underway on the 51-kilometre Rewari–Narnaul section in Haryana. More than 80 percent of the work has already been completed, with a total project budget of ₹665.72 crore allocated for this segment.

Second Phase to Cover Narnaul–Phulera Stretch

In the second phase, a new 164-kilometre railway line will be laid between Narnaul and Phulera in Rajasthan. Construction work for this section will begin after the completion of the first phase.

The proposed cost for the Narnaul–Phulera rail line doubling project is estimated at ₹1,542.38 crore.

Reduced Pressure on Delhi–Jaipur Rail Route

Currently, train operations on this route are limited, and many long-distance trains often have to wait at crossing points, increasing travel time. Once the Rewari–Phulera route is doubled, a large number of trains traveling from Rajasthan and Gujarat to Delhi will be able to use this corridor.

This will significantly reduce congestion on the busy Delhi–Jaipur railway route and improve overall railway operations.

Shorter Route to Improve Travel and Trade

The Rewari–Phulera route is approximately 70 kilometres shorter, which will help reduce travel time once the doubling work is completed.

Apart from improving passenger convenience, the upgraded rail line is also expected to boost trade, transportation and regional economic activity, while strengthening the railway network in northern India.
