Diya Kumari Condemns Remarks Against PM Modi’s Late Mother, Demands Apology

Date:

Jaipur, Rajasthan: Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Monday strongly condemned the alleged derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother at a Mahagathbandhan event in Bihar’s Darbhanga. She said such comments are not only disrespectful to the Prime Minister but also an insult to the values and culture of India.

Addressing reporters, Diya Kumari stated, “I condemn this. It is very sad that he used such words for the Prime Minister’s late mother. They didn’t even feel any remorse. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav should immediately apologise to every single woman in the country and the Prime Minister. The kind of words used are not the culture and values of our country.”

The BJP has been holding nationwide protests since the video from the Darbhanga event went viral, demanding an unconditional apology from the INDIA bloc leaders. Kumari emphasised that such language against women is unacceptable in Indian society, where mothers are regarded with the highest respect.

She further said that political disagreements should never cross the boundary of decency and respect for families. According to her, the refusal of opposition leaders to apologise has only deepened public anger.

The controversy over the remarks has become a major political flashpoint, with BJP leaders vowing to take the matter to the people. Observers believe the issue could have significant electoral implications, as it touches upon cultural values and the dignity of women in the country.
