Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel: US Tariffs Will Not Impact India’s Growth

Date:

Jaipur: Reacting to the recent imposition of 50% tariffs by the United States, Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel expressed confidence that the move will not adversely affect the Indian economy. Speaking to reporters, Patel said India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has already strengthened its self-reliance by promoting the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Made in India’ initiatives.

He noted that in the past decade, Indian companies have significantly ramped up domestic production across sectors, reducing dependency on foreign imports. “Since PM Modi has given the slogans of Make in India and adoption of Made in India products, all Indian companies have started manufacturing most products in India,” Patel said.

The minister further asserted that India is well-positioned to withstand global trade pressures. “I have full faith that PM Modi will never bow down and will never take any decision that is against the country. 50% US tariffs will not affect the Indian economy, and we will soon become the third largest economy in the world,” he added.

Patel’s remarks come amid growing global concerns about trade protectionism. Economists have noted that while tariffs may create short-term challenges for exporters, India’s emphasis on domestic manufacturing, infrastructure growth, and technology-driven industries will help cushion the impact.

Experts also highlight that India’s economic fundamentals remain strong, with consistent GDP growth, rising foreign investments, and expanding export diversification.

The minister concluded by saying that India’s economic journey is firmly on track, guided by reforms aimed at strengthening self-reliance, boosting exports, and securing India’s place among the world’s top economies.
