Princess Astrid of Belgium Meets PM Modi, Strengthening India-Belgium Economic Ties

Princess Astrid of Belgium, representing King Philippe, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today as part of a 300-member Economic Mission to India. The visit aims to expand trade and cooperation across multiple sectors, including technology, defence, agriculture, and life sciences.

PM Modi welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation, stating, “Deeply appreciate her initiative to lead a 300-member Economic Mission to India. Look forward to unlocking limitless opportunities for our people through new partnerships.”

The mission includes business leaders and policymakers engaging in strategic discussions to foster collaboration in trade, innovation, and academic exchange. This visit is expected to result in new agreements that will further cement India-Belgium relations. Key areas of focus include renewable energy, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and artificial intelligence, with both countries eager to explore synergies in these sectors.

Princess Astrid’s visit highlights Belgium’s long-standing commitment to strengthening ties with India.
