On the birth anniversary of Pingali Venkayya, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid homage to the prominent figure responsible for designing the Indian national flag. Venkayya, whose contributions significantly shaped the Indian Tricolour, was remembered with great reverence as the Prime Minister acknowledged his pivotal role in India’s history.

In his tribute posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi highlighted Venkayya’s lasting impact on the nation. “Remembering Pingali Venkayya Ji on his birth anniversary. His effort in giving us the Tricolour will always be remembered,” Modi wrote. The Prime Minister’s message also included a call to action for the public to engage in the Har Ghar Tiranga movement, a campaign encouraging citizens to display the national flag at their homes.

The Har Ghar Tiranga movement, running from August 9th to 15th, aims to foster a sense of unity and national pride. Prime Minister Modi urged citizens to participate by unfurling the Tricolour and sharing their photos on the designated website, harghartiranga.com. This initiative seeks to involve people from all walks of life in celebrating India’s heritage and strengthening their connection to the national flag.

The campaign is set to coincide with the country’s Independence Day celebrations, amplifying its significance and encouraging widespread participation. By posting selfies with the flag, citizens can contribute to a vibrant display of national pride and unity, reinforcing the spirit of independence and patriotism.
