Rajasthan, known for its scorching heat and arid conditions, is currently under a heatwave ‘red’ alert. The state’s Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, has recently made a public appeal addressing the severity of the situation and the government’s efforts to provide relief.
CM’s Appeal Amidst Heatwave
In his appeal, CM Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized the need for everyone to be mindful of the heatwave’s impact on the state’s fauna. He said, “Our birds, cows, other animals, they all need a lot of water, everyone must take care of this.” He urged the public to make arrangements for water for animals and birds, wherever possible.
Government’s Efforts to Provide Relief
The Rajasthan government, under the leadership of CM Sharma, is making every effort to provide relief to the people. Sharma has instructed the administration to ensure there are adequate facilities for water and electricity.
“Round-the-clock monitoring is being done to ensure availability of electricity and water. People should not face any problem,” Sharma stated during a morning walk at Jaipur’s Central Park. He interacted with locals, assuring them of the government’s efforts to mitigate the effects of the heatwave.
Precautionary Measures and Future Plans
In addition to providing basic amenities, the state government has made arrangements for the prevention and treatment of seasonal diseases. It has also arranged for medicine and water for livestock.
Sharma suggested that people should leave home only for essential work and take special care of their eating habits. He also mentioned that the leaves of officers and personnel of the Electricity, Public Health Engineering, and Medical departments have been cancelled to ensure uninterrupted services.
The Met office in Jaipur predicts that the maximum temperature is likely to rise by 1-2 degrees in parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions in the next 48 hours. However, there is a silver lining as the maximum temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 degrees in some parts of the state from May 29.
