JAIPUR – In a significant move to mark International Women’s Day, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma joined the state-level programme through video conferencing from the State International Centre. The event, held on March 8, aimed to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

The Chief Minister’s virtual presence at the event underscored the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and gender equality. Sharma, known for his progressive policies and initiatives, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of women’s contributions to society and the need for their upliftment.

“Women are the backbone of our society. They play a crucial role in shaping the future of our state and our country,” said Sharma. “On this International Women’s Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to ensuring equal opportunities and rights for women in all spheres of life.”

The event saw participation from various women’s groups, NGOs, and civil society organizations. It included panel discussions, workshops, and cultural performances, all aimed at celebrating womanhood and promoting gender equality.

Sharma’s participation in the event, albeit virtually, was lauded by attendees. “It’s heartening to see our Chief Minister take out time to attend this event. His presence, even through a screen, gives us hope that our voices are being heard at the highest levels of government,” said one of the participants.

The state-level programme on International Women’s Day is just one of the many initiatives by the Rajasthan government under Sharma’s leadership to promote women’s empowerment. It serves as a reminder of the strides made in the direction of gender equality and the journey that still lies ahead.

As the event concluded, the attendees were left with a renewed sense of purpose and a stronger resolve to continue their fight for gender equality. With leaders like Sharma showing their support, the future indeed looks promising for the women of Rajasthan.
