Jaipur/Jodhpur: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on March 6, 2026 announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, with Anuj Agnihotri from Rajasthan securing All India Rank 1 (AIR 1). His achievement has brought pride to the state and highlighted the growing presence of Rajasthan’s youth in India’s top administrative services.
A resident of Rawatbhata in Kota district, Agnihotri completed his MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur. His remarkable success in one of the country’s most competitive examinations has been widely celebrated across Rajasthan.
From Doctor to UPSC Topper
Anuj Agnihotri’s academic journey is considered highly inspiring. After completing his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur, in 2023, he decided to pursue a career in the civil services to contribute to society on a larger scale.
His background in medical science helped him develop a sensitive and analytical approach toward public issues, which proved beneficial during his UPSC preparation.
Prepared While Serving in DANICS
Agnihotri’s success reflects years of persistence and dedication. He is currently serving in the DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service) cadre.
Despite working as a full-time officer, he continued his preparation alongside his official responsibilities. Using the limited time available after office hours, he remained consistent with his studies and ultimately achieved the top rank in the country.
Cleared UPSC Earlier as Well
This was not Agnihotri’s first success in the UPSC examination. In his first attempt in 2023, he had cleared the exam and was allotted the DANICS service, following which he was posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Delhi.
Earlier, he had also secured All India Rank 215 in the AIIMS entrance examination before joining AIIMS Jodhpur for his MBBS studies.
His father K.B. Agnihotri works at Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (Units 1 and 2), while his mother Manju Agnihotri is a homemaker.
