Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal met Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in Singapore on August 20, 2026, and participated in the 4th India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) and the 4th India-Singapore Business Roundtable (ISBR) meetings.
Discussions were held during the meetings on expanding trade, investment, technology, and business partnerships, following which MoUs were signed between the two countries.
Shri Piyush Goyal participated in G2B meetings with senior representatives from the global business and institutional sectors. Discussions with representatives from the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) and Keppel Infrastructure emphasized strengthening India-Singapore cooperation. The dialogue focused particularly on key areas such as agri-exports, GCC-based commercial parks, fintech, and sustainable infrastructure.
While participating in the India-Singapore Business Forum held in Singapore, Shri Piyush Goyal discussed India’s growing role in the global economic landscape and new business opportunities. Additionally, he visited the APEDA-FairPrice initiative at City Square Mall alongside Ms. Gan Siow Huang, highlighting the expanding agricultural trade and market cooperation between the two nations.
During the event, He also participated in a fireside chat on the topic “India in the New Global Growth Equation: Growth and Opportunities for Business in Asia and the World,” followed by an interaction and Q&A session with members of the business community.
These high-level meetings and events underscored the commitment to further strengthening trade, investment, technology, and business-to-business cooperation between India and Singapore. The participation of senior ministers from both nations in the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable gave further impetus to their robust economic partnership and to opportunities for future collaboration.
