NHAI Introduces Seamless Multi-Lane Free Flow Toll Collection on Delhi–Jaipur Corridor

Date:

Rajasthan: Under the Electronic Toll Collection system, the NHAI has successfully launched a Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF)-based tolling system at the Manoharapura toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur section of NH-48 in Rajasthan. Last month, on June 19, 2026, the NHAI launched Rajasthan’s first multi-lane free-flow (MLFF) tolling system at the Daulatpura toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur section. Following its implementation at Manoharpura, the NHAI plans to upgrade the Shahjahanpur toll plaza to the MLFF system as well, making travel smoother and uninterrupted on the busy Delhi-Jaipur section of NH-48.

MLFF enables seamless toll collection by utilizing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and FASTag technologies, allowing vehicles to pass through without stopping. This ensures smooth traffic flow and automatic toll collection, while also supporting the Government of India’s vision of technology-driven and citizen-centric services.

For an uninterrupted MLFF experience, National Highway users must maintain a sufficient balance in their FASTag accounts. If the FASTag balance is low, or if the FASTag is invalid or non-functional, an electronic notice (E-Notice) is sent to the user for non-payment of the fee. Such users must pay the standard user fee within 72 hours of receiving the e-notice. Failure to make the payment after 72 hours will result in a user fee charge of double the standard rate for the vehicle category. The e-notice can be viewed and paid for via the https://nhfeenotice.parivahan.gov.in portal and the ‘Rajmargyatra’ app.

The implementation of MLFF has helped strengthen the tolling ecosystem. It has enhanced transparency, reduced operational costs associated with constructing physical toll plazas, and improved the overall efficiency of toll operations across the country. (PIB)
