Hockey India has announced a 24-member junior women’s team for an exposure tour of the United Kingdom. The tour will take place from July 5 to July 14. Under the guidance of new coach Tim White, the team will play seven matches in Scotland and England as part of preparations for upcoming international tournaments, including the Junior Asia Cup.
Khaidem Shileima Chanu will captain the youth team for the United Kingdom exposure tour, with Nidhi and Angil Harsha Rani Minz serving as the two goalkeepers. The defensive unit comprises Pooja Sahu, Supriya, Madhu, F. Lalbi Aksiyami, Lalneihpui, and Parvati Topno. The midfield includes captain Chanu, Tanuja Toppo, Supriya Kujur, Pooja Malik, Binima Dhan, Geeta Yadav, Roshni Aind, and Tanushree Dinesh Kadu.
This nine-day exposure tour will begin with two matches against the Scotland senior women’s team at the University of Edinburgh. Following this, the team will play at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre, where the Indian squad will participate in a tournament featuring junior teams from the USA, England, and Belgium.
