Jaisalmer: Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Southern Command, recently visited the strategically important Konark Corps in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, to assess its operational preparedness and review ongoing modernisation efforts aimed at building a future-ready combat force. The visit underlined the Army’s continued focus on strengthening readiness in India’s western desert sector, a region considered crucial for national security.
During his field visit, Lt Gen Jain received detailed briefings from senior commanders of the Konark Corps regarding the current security environment, deployment patterns, and combat readiness levels. He was also apprised of ongoing initiatives focused on enhancing battlefield efficiency through technology integration, improved logistics, and advanced training modules designed for high-intensity operations in desert terrain.
