Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: Preparations are in full swing in the holy city of Ayodhya ahead of the proposed visit of President Droupadi Murmu on March 19. Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the district administration, Culture Department, and several organizations are working together to present a grand cultural and traditional welcome for the President.
Grand Welcome Planned from Airport to Ram Temple
According to Chief Development Officer Krishna Kumar Singh, an elaborate स्वागत (welcome) plan has been prepared in collaboration with the Culture Department. The route from Ayodhya Airport to the Ram Temple gate will be transformed into a vibrant cultural corridor.
Around 20 cultural stages will be set up along the route, where nearly 250 artists will perform various traditional and devotional presentations.
City to Echo with Ramayana-Based Cultural Performances
Artists from different districts of Uttar Pradesh will present performances inspired by the Ramayana, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere across the city.
The programs will include:
- Welcome songs and devotional bhajans
- Badhava (traditional welcome performances)
- Awadhi folk singing
- Folk dances
- Ram bhakti-based cultural acts
These performances aim to immerse the entire route in devotion and cultural richness.
Showcasing Folk Traditions and Vedic Heritage
To highlight Ayodhya’s deep-rooted traditions, several cultural elements will be featured, including:
- Ramlila excerpts
- Awadhi folk dances
- Cultural tableaux (Jhankis)
- Drum performances (Dhol-Nagara)
- Conch blowing (Shankhnaad)
- Vedic chanting and bhajan-kirtan
These programs will bring alive the city’s ancient religious, Vedic, and cultural heritage in a visually captivating manner.
Cultural Stages at Key Locations
The cultural stages will be strategically set up at प्रमुख locations such as:
- Airport Road
- Naka
- Devkali
- Chudamani Chauraha
- Nishad Raj Chauraha
- Brihaspati Kund
- Near Ram Temple Gate
Smaller stages will host teams of around 7 artists, while larger stages will feature performances by 15-member groups.
Boost to Ayodhya’s Global Cultural Identity
Officials stated that all participating teams will showcase Ram devotion, Awadhi culture, and Vedic traditions in their performances.
The initiative not only aims to offer a heartfelt welcome to the President but also to strengthen Ayodhya’s cultural identity on the national and global stage.
