Jaipur: In a major step toward digital governance and consumer convenience, Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (Jaipur Discom) has launched a new online service on the Bijli Mitra Portal. The facility allows applicants to check the complete fee for a new electricity connection within just 5 to 10 seconds from the comfort of their homes.
The initiative eliminates the need for consumers to visit electricity offices to inquire about connection charges, making the process faster, transparent, and hassle-free.
How to Check New Electricity Connection Charges Online
Under the newly introduced digital service, applicants simply need to enter basic details such as:
- Category of connection
- Single-phase or three-phase selection
- Contract demand
- Service line length
- Kilowatt (kW) load capacity
Once the required information is entered, the total connection fee is instantly displayed on the screen.
Transparent and Consumer-Friendly Process
Earlier, many consumers were unaware of the estimated cost of a new electricity connection. They often had to visit offices multiple times to gather information, and unexpected demand notes sometimes caused concern.
With this new online calculator on the Bijli Mitra Portal, the process has become transparent and predictable. Consumers can now plan their expenses in advance without unnecessary delays.

Discom officials said the initiative will save time, reduce unnecessary visits to offices, and provide clear cost details to applicants beforehand. The move is also expected to strengthen trust between the electricity department and consumers through improved digital services.
