Spain Reigns Supreme as World Champion, Argentina Celebrates Big Financial Reward

In an exciting final match of the FIFA World Cup 2026, Spain performed magnificently and defeated Argentina 1-0. Spain has won this title for the second time. After winning this title, the Spanish team has received a lot of prize money.

A prize money of $50 million (around 480 crore Indian rupees) has been given to the Spanish team. This prize money was $42 million last time, but this time, $8 million was added to the prize money. Meanwhile, despite losing the final, the runner-up team, Argentina also awarded $33 million (around 318 crore Indian rupees) as prize money.

England, finishing third after defeating France, received $29 million (₹279 crore), while France, finishing fourth, received $27 million (₹260 crore). Teams that reached the quarter-finals received $19 million (₹183 crore) each, whereas teams eliminated in the Round of 16 were awarded $15 million (₹144 crore).

Spain displayed an outstanding performance in the final. Neither team managed to score during the regulation 90 minutes. The match then went into extra time, where Spanish player Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the match in the 106th minute, securing Spain’s second World Cup title. Spain has claimed the World Cup trophy after a gap of 16 years.

The team had previously won this title in 2010. Spain’s defence appeared exceptionally solid throughout the tournament, conceding only one goal. Spanish midfielder Rodri was named the tournament’s best player and won the ‘Golden Ball’.
