Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan Highlights Progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Rajasthan

Date:

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has shared positive developments regarding the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Rajasthan following a significant meeting with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. Chauhan emphasized the progress made towards the goal of providing affordable housing in the state.

“A very important meeting has taken place. We had set a target of 24 lakh houses for Rajasthan under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, out of which work on 20 lakh houses has been completed,” Chauhan stated. He added that work on the remaining houses is progressing, and surveys are ongoing to identify the areas where the final constructions will take place.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a flagship initiative by the central government, aims to provide affordable housing to the urban and rural poor across India. With significant progress already made in Rajasthan, the state government, in partnership with the central government, is committed to ensuring that all targets are met and that every eligible beneficiary receives a home.

The completion of 20 lakh houses represents a substantial step towards the government’s goal of ensuring ‘Housing for All’ by 2022, although ongoing work for the remaining houses signals the government’s continued focus on fulfilling this critical initiative. As the survey work for the remaining homes continues, Rajasthan is on track to meet its target under the PMAY scheme in the near future.

This successful collaboration between the Union Ministry and Rajasthan’s state government is being seen as a model for similar initiatives across the country, with the aim of improving the living standards of millions of people in need of housing.
