Prime Minister Modi Highlights India’s Economic Growth and Stability at ET World Leaders Forum

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ET World Leaders Forum on Saturday, underscoring the remarkable success of India’s economic reforms and the country’s choice for political stability by re-electing the NDA government for a third consecutive term. Modi’s remarks reflected a broader narrative of India’s distinctive growth story amidst global political changes.

Speaking to an audience of global leaders and economic experts, Modi emphasized that while many countries sought changes in their governments this year, India demonstrated a strong preference for continuity, stability, and economic progress. “In the global context, where many nations opted for governmental changes, the people of India chose to reaffirm their trust in our government. This is the third consecutive term for the NDA government, marking a historic achievement after 60 years,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s exceptional economic performance, noting that while the global economy grew by 35 percent over the last decade, India’s economy surged by 90 percent. “We promised sustained growth and we have delivered it. Our economic growth trajectory is not just significant but exceptional, and we anticipate this momentum to continue,” Modi stated.

Modi praised the transformative impact of his government’s policies, which he claimed have touched the lives of millions of Indians. He reiterated the government’s mantra of “Reform, Perform, Transform” as the guiding principle behind its achievements. “The reforms we have implemented are visible in the improved lives of our citizens. The youth and women of India have particularly supported our agenda for continuity, stability, and economic growth,” he added.

A major highlight of Modi’s speech was the progress in poverty alleviation. The Prime Minister revealed that over the past decade, more than 250 million people have risen out of poverty, contributing to the formation of a new middle class. “The speed and scale of this progress are unprecedented. No other democratic society has witnessed such a transformation,” Modi asserted.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to empowerment, Modi noted the significant strides made in less than 100 days of his third term, with notable decisions benefiting the poor, women, youth, and farmers. “We have prioritized empowering the underprivileged, addressing their aspirations, and providing essential facilities such as bank accounts,” Modi said.

Modi’s address at the ET World Leaders Forum illustrated a narrative of robust economic growth and social transformation, positioning India as a model of stability and progress amidst global uncertainty.
