Rajasthan to Develop 3 Greenfield Expressways Worth ₹38,000 Crore

The Rajasthan government has proposed the development of three major Greenfield Expressways in western Rajasthan as part of a larger plan to build nine new expressways across the state. The projects, estimated at around ₹38,000 crore, aim to strengthen industrial growth, trade connectivity, and tourism infrastructure.

Construction on the three expressways has not yet begun. However, land acquisition, design work, and preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) are currently underway. Officials state that these corridors will be linked to major national economic corridors, enhancing Rajasthan’s connectivity with other states.

Key Expressway Projects

1. Jaipur–Pachpadra Greenfield Expressway

The 350-km expressway will connect Jaipur Ring Road to the Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor near Pachpadra. Covering Jaipur, Ajmer, Pali, and Jodhpur districts, the project is estimated to cost ₹11,000 crore. Travel time is expected to reduce from 6–7 hours to approximately 3.5 hours.

2. Jalore–Jhalawar Expressway

This 402-km corridor will connect the Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor in Jalore with the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway in Jhalawar. With an estimated cost of over ₹16,000 crore, the project aims to improve connectivity between western Rajasthan, Hadoti, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. Travel time is projected to drop from over 10 hours to around 4 hours.

3. Jaipur–Phalodi (Solar Hub) Expressway

Starting from the northern Jaipur Ring Road and connecting to NH-11 in Phalodi, this 345-km expressway is estimated to cost ₹11,000 crore. It will pass through key towns including Kalwad, Jobner, Didwana, and Nagaur, reducing travel time from 7 hours to 3.5 hours.

Boost to Industrial Growth

All three expressways will link with the Amritsar–Jamnagar corridor, improving access to Gujarat ports. The projects are also expected to benefit the western Rajasthan refinery and proposed industrial zones under the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), strengthening logistics and trade infrastructure in the region.
