She also noted that the team has become the only side to win the trophy consecutively, bringing immense pride and joy to cricket fans across the country.
The President added that the achievement reflects the immense talent present among India’s youth. She praised every player, the team management, and the support staff for their contribution and wished the Indian cricket team continued success in the future.
PM Narendra Modi Hails the Champions
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the team on social media platform X, calling them “Champions.”
In his message, the Prime Minister said the victory showcased extraordinary skill, determination, and teamwork. He added that the players demonstrated remarkable composure throughout the tournament and that the triumph has filled every Indian with pride and happiness.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the team’s outstanding performance, describing the victory as a proud moment for the nation. He said Team India’s enthusiasm and consistent performance throughout the tournament brought great honor to the country.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh applauded the players for their remarkable victory in the T20 World Cup final. He said their skill, passion, and teamwork once again made the country proud and that the team performed like true champions throughout the tournament.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan described the triumph as an “unbeatable and incredible India,” congratulating the team for becoming world champions after their historic win against New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called the victory part of “India’s victorious journey,” saying the memorable night and the style of the win will always be remembered by cricket fans.
India Defeats New Zealand by 96 Runs in Final
In the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 final, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India delivered a dominant performance against New Zealand.
Batting first, India posted a massive total of 256 runs. In reply, the New Zealand team was bowled out for 159 runs in 19 overs, giving India a convincing 96-run victory.
With this win, India lifted the T20 World Cup trophy for the third time and became the first country to win the tournament on home soil, marking another milestone in Indian cricket history.
